Spotlight on Laminate

Hand-Scraped Hardwood FloorLaminate is less expensive than hardwood and is actually more durable. Both are easy to maintain and eliminate the allergy concerns of carpet. Although manufacturers have really improved the appearance of laminate, it does still not have the natural beauty of a hardwood floor. Since it is installed as a floating floor, laminate will have a more hollow sound than hardwood. In some cases they are easier to repair, but can't be re-finished like a hardwood floor can. The best way to determine which flooring is best for you is to visit Benicia Floor Company and see laminate side by side with hardwood. We'll be happy to discuss your unique requirements and assist you with your choice.
  • The surface wear layer is extremely durable and has an aluminum oxide finish
  • Laminates can look like wood, tile or stone
  • They are installed as "floating floors" over a layer of foam underlayment
  • Styles include beveled edges, texture, shade variations and hand-scraped
  • Laminate flooring can even be installed on stairs
